Job Entry Targeted Support (JETS)

In response to increasing unemployment as a result of Covid-19, the Department of Work & Pensions created the Job Entry: Targeted Support programme (known as JETS) to provide rapid support to help people who lose their jobs to get back into work quickly.

Building on the devolved Work and Health Programme that SLP already runs, DWP devolved nearly £3.5m to us to which has been commissioned to Reed in Partnership, our employment support provider, to deliver JETS across our boroughs.

Launched in October 2020, the SLP JETS programme is being delivered by Reed in Partnership and will run for a year. It is expected to support 3520 of our residents into jobs.

Participants will be referred through the Jobcentre Plus and receive support from a designated Employment Adviser, for up to 6 months, who will help them identify and achieve an effective route back into sustainable employment.

 Each jobseeker can benefit from:

  • A personally developed action plan
  • 1-2-1 appointments every ten working days
  • An Online Career Centre
  • Health and wellbeing support
  • Specialist self-employment advice
  • Funding support for travel and work interview clothing

Any queries about the programme oversight should be addressed to the Contract Team Support Officer, Gurvinder Doal at Gurvinder.Doal@croydon.gov.uk
